At North Kootenay Bike Shop, we want everyone to experience the joy of exploring Kaslo’s magnificent scenery. We invite everyone from beginners to seniors to to pro’s to join our wonderful cycling community and discover the places a bike can take you.
In 2021 owners Cheryl, Neil, and their daughter made the move to Kaslo to start their semi-retirement. Immediately greeted by the community with a friendly welcome, they settled in to the Kootenays with the intent of renting bikes out of their home.
Kaslo’s backyard is no new territory for these two. Growing up in Kaslo, Neil and his buddies spent summers building trails and having fun on their bikes. He grew up mechanically minded, fixing bikes a natural talent. Cheryl, with a passion for biking and the outdoors had vacationed to the area with Neil many times. She dreamt of sharing the beauty of the scenery beyond town and making it accessible to everyone. When the opportunity arose to take over North Kootenay Bike Shop, they felt everything had fallen into place. Shortly after, they found a space on Kaslo’s main street and set up shop. They are so excited to be re-united with old friends in the community, and meet people from around the world who share a passion for exploring the great outdoors.
North Kootenay Bike Shop is open weekends all year round for service and sales. From early spring to late fall we take walk ins for service and rentals. If you are looking for a specific bike or part we are able to order most things in. Come in and talk to our experienced technicians and we will get back on a bike as quick as possible.
Along with NKBS, Cheryl and Neil also run Whipsaw Eco Tours. Checkout the website and book E-Bike tours through Ghost Towns, Waterfalls and more!
